In the lift
The design of NEL takes into consideration the safety and convenience of commuters
who are less mobile. All stations have lift access from the street to the platform level.

• Do not rush into the lift when doors are closing.

• Please show consideration to other passengers who are less mobile.

• In an emergency, please press the emergency bell button for assistance. You can also speak to our staff through the intercom unit.

On the platform
NEL features the first "tactile flooring" in Singapore's MRT stations. This special flooring
is designed to help the visually impaired find their way in the stations.

• Keep clear of the escalator and staircase
landing area.

• Stand to the side of the doors and let
alighting passengers get off first.

• Mind the gap between the train and the platform.

• Do not lean your body or place your hands
on the platform screen doors to avoid being
caught when the doors slide open or close.

  • Do not rush into the train when the doors are closing.

• Fire extinguishers are available for use in emergencies.

• Use the Fire Phone to speak to our staff at the Passenger Service Centre during emergencies.

• In an emergency, press the Emergency Train Stop (ETS) button located at alternate pillars on the platform. When the ETS is pressed, the approaching train will stop. If the train is already atthe station, it will not move off. To avoid unnecessary train delay, please use the ETS only in emergencies.
