(A) Temporary Bus Service Diversions
New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street (between the junction with Upper Cross Street and the junction with Kreta Ayer Road) will be closed to vehicular traffic for Lunar New Year celebration between Tuesday (8 February 2005) 6.00 pm to Wednesday (9 February 2005) 3.00 am.

During the road closure, 16 SBS Transit bus services will be temporarily diverted. The bus services affected are : 2, 12, 33, 54, 63, 80, 124, 143, 145, 147, 166, 197, C 2, CT 8, CT 18 and CT 28. Some bus stops along New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street will be skipped in the process.

Traffic Inspectors will be deployed at the diversion points to assist bus captains.

North East Line Service To Chinatown
Commuters going to Chinatown may wish to travel on the North East Line (NEL) and alight at Chinatown Station during this period. As the Chinatown Station is expected to be very busy during this time, commuters are urged to take note of the following recommendations so as to ensure a more comfortable travelling experience.

• Commuters are advised to top-up their ez-link cards before making the journey to Chinatown.
  
• Those buying the ez-link standard tickets are encouraged to buy the standard tickets for their return journey as well.
  
• Commuters may want to consider alighting at alternative NEL stations such as Clarke Quay and Outram Stations when going to Chinatown. Clarke Quay Station is less than 300m away while Outram Station is about 600m away from the Chinatown Station.

(B) Extension of Operating Hours for Bus and Rail Serviceon Lunar New Year Eve
To enable the revellers to get home after midnight, SBS Transit is extending operating hours of some of the bus services and rail service on the eve of Lunar New Year, 8 February 2005.

Bus Service
Selected trunk services in Chinatown

The last trip of the selected trunk services will leave Chinatown at about 1.30am. These services are:
Service 12 in the direction of Pasir Ris
Service 33 in the direction of Bedok
Service 147 in the direction of Clementi
Service 166 in the direction of Ang Mo Kio
Service 197 in the direction of Bedok
Service 197 in the direction of Jurong East

Special Services
To tie-in with the extension of train services on 8 February 2005, 11 special services operated by SBS Transit, connecting selected MRT stations in housing estates will be further extended till after 2 am.

The new towns to be served by special services are Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Boon Lay, Clementi, Hougang, Jurong East, Pasir Ris, Sengkang, Serangoon and Tampines.

Chinatown Direct Services CT 8, CT 18 and CT 28
The last bus will leave Ang Mo Kio, Bedok and Clementi in the direction of Chinatown at 11 pm, while the last bus returning from Chinatown to the respective new towns will leave at 2 am

Nite Owl Services
SBS Transit will be operating Nite Owl Services 16M, 65M, 89M, 162M, 174M and 181M from Tuesday, 8 February to Saturday, 12 February 2005.

Operating hours: 12 midnight – 4.00 am (from city)
Frequency : 20 minutes
Fare : $2.50 (ez-link card) or $3.00 (cash)

Concessionary travel (includes concession cardholders with valid Bus Concession Pass) and transfer rebates are not applicable.

• Service 401
  Service 401 will operate from 2 pm to 10 pm on the eve of Lunar New Year, 8 February 2005.
  
• Fast Forward 97e
  Fast Forward 97e will leave Clifford Pier from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm on the eve of Lunar New Year, 8 February 2005, instead of operating in the evening. The morning trips from Jurong East Bus Interchange remain unchanged.
  
• Services 68 and 84
  
  Services 68 and 84 will not operate on 8 February 2005.
