The Sengkang LRT West Loop and Punggol LRT East Loop will commence revenue service on Saturday, 29 January 2005.

Sengkang LRT West Loop
On 29 January 2005, the Sengkang LRT West Loop will commence revenue service at 10am after the opening ceremony of Thanggam Station link bridge to commemorate the start of Sengkang LRT West Loop service. The stations that will commence revenue service are Thanggam, Fernvale, Layar, Tongkang and Renjong. The other three stations, Cheng Lim, Farmway and Kupang will be opened at a later date due to the lack of housing developments in the vicinity. After 29 January 2005, it will be reverted back to its normal operating hours from 5.20am to 12.35am. 

Punggol LRT East Loop
As for the Punggol LRT East Loop, it will commence revenue service at 1pm after the opening ceremony. The six stations that will commence revenue service are Punggol, Cove, Meridian, Coral Edge, Riviera and Kadaloor. The remaining two stations, Oasis and Damai as well as the seven stations along the West Loop will be opened at a later date when the areas surrounding these stations are more developed. After 29 January 2005, it will be reverted back to its normal operating hours from 5.20am to 12.35am.
