Get Fresh! Dancers at NEL stations
SBS Transit hosts performances for the first time in North East Line Stations

Singapore, 13 April 2006 — After their scintillating performances at major pubs, F&B outlets and shopping malls since 16 March 2006, the Get Fresh! dancers will be performing at three North East MRT Line (NEL) stations this Friday, 14 April 2006. This will be the first time SBS Transit hosts roadshows inside the NEL stations, educating the public while providing entertainment to the ongoing traffic.

2. The new Get Fresh! Campaign rides on the success of the Health Promotion Board’s Fresh Air for Women (FAFW)programme, providing round the clock support to help more young women quit smoking.

First of its kind at NEL stations
3. Breaking with tradition, Get Fresh! embarks on an entirely new marketing platform to create buzz, pique interest and enhance commuters’ experience by having roadshows in NEL stations. Besides introducing the quit smoking message to the commuters, Get Fresh! dancers will be grooving to the music while engaging the crowd with Get Fresh! collaterals, with the aim of encouraging young women to log on to the Get Fresh! website (www.getfresh.com.sg) for resources and support to quit smoking.

4. This series of events will be held on 14 April 2006 at three locations:
(1) Harbourfront Station from 5 pm to 6 pm,
(2) Outram Station from 6.15 pm to 7.30 pm, and
(3) Dhoby Ghaut Station from 7.45 pm to 9 pm.

5. Ms Tammy Tan, Director of Corporate Communications for SBS Transit, said: “The Fresh Air for Women programme is a great one and we are thrilled to be able to support it. Having dancers perform in our stations is an added bonus to our commuters who not only get to see live entertainment but also get to hear the very important message the Get Fresh! dancers are spreading.”

Rapidly growing support from the public to Get Fresh!
6. Since its launch on 16 March 2006, Get Fresh! has reached out to young women in Singapore at hotspots like clubs, pubs, F&B outlets, office areas and shopping centres. Within a span of just one month, we have gathered support for fresher air from over 2000 individuals.

7. “We are delighted to discover and engage so many supporters who believe in helping women live a smoke-free life. Many smokers and non-smokers have come forward to offer their time and experience, to help women smokers in their quit journey. We are very pleased to partner with SBS Transit and are gratified by their support to empower more women to lead a smoke-free life,” said Ms Choo Lin, Manager, National Smoking Control Programme, Health Promotion Board.
