15 SBS Transit bus services will be temporarily diverted from Saturday, 17 February, 5pm to Sunday, 18 February, 3am due to road closure for the Lunar New Year Chinatown Countdown. The affected roads are New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street, between the junction of Upper Cross Street and Kreta Ayer Road.

Bus services 2, 12, 33, 54, 63, 80, 124, 143, 145, 147, 166, 197, CT 8, CT 18 and CT 28 that ply through affected roads will be diverted to travel along Upper Pickering Street, South Bridge Road, Neil Road, Kreta Ayer Road, Outram Road, Chin Swee Road and Havelock Road before rejoining the normal route.

With the road diversion, the affected services will also not call at these bus stops:

• outside Chinatown Point and New Bridge Centre along New Bridge Road
• outside Pearl’s Centre, People’s Park Complex and People’s Park Centre along Eu Tong Sen Street

Passengers travelling to and from the said area can board and alight at the bus stops along the diverted routes. Traffic inspectors will be at the diversion points to assist bus captains and passengers.

During the road closure, Chinatown Direct Services (CT8, CT18 and CT28) will also not terminate at the New Bridge Road Terminal. They will loop back along Outram Road, after the bus stop opposite Pearl’s Centre, and return to their respective residential towns.
