In the train NEL features one of the most advanced
passenger trains.Though fully automated,
it is not unmanned. In-train activities are monitored by the staff
in the
Operations Control Centre. There are also roving Customer Service
Officers
to provide assistance.
Keep your hands
away from the doors to avoid being caught when the doors are
opening or closing.
If
there is an emergency, you can talk to our staff by pushing
the Emergency Call button located at alternate doors of
the train. If the Emergency Call button is
pressed while the
train is at the platform, it will not move off. If the
train ismoving between stations, it will come to a stop
at the next station. As such, use the Emergency Call button
only in emergencies to avoid unnecessary train delay.
Be careful with your bag straps, umbrellas and other
personal
belongings when boarding and alighting from the trains.
Please hold on to the grab poles
and hand-straps at all times.
Do not run or play in the train.
Fire
extinguishers are available for emergency use.
Do not lean against
the emergency exit door at the ends of the train.
Move away from the train doors to allow others to
enter and exit the train
Do give up your seat to someone who needs it more.
Door Unlock Handle This
is located at the top of the Emergency Communications Unit.
During an emergency, when evacuation takes place at the station,
operate the door unlock handle to open the door from inside
the train.
CCTVs
There are Closed-Circuit TV cameras located throughout every
NEL station and also in each carriage of all NEL trains. The
CCTVs allow our staff to monitor what is happening in the stations
and inside the trains and respond to situations.
Emergency Exit Door Every NEL train has an Emergency
Exit Door at each end of the train.
Never activate the emergency exit doors unless an emergency
arises or if directed by our staff.
In the event of an emergency detrainment into the tunnel,
only exit the train via the emergency exit doors
at both ends of the train. Do not force open the train doors
and attempt to jump onto the tracks.
