Singapore One Rail
Singapore One Rail (SOR) is a joint venture between SBS Transit and RATP Dev, the international subsidiary of the French operator RATP Group. With 125 years of global experience, RATP Dev brings extensive experience in high-capacity urban rail and complex projects.
In November 2024, the Land Transport Authority awarded SOR the contract to operate and maintain the Jurong Region Line (JRL) – Singapore’s seventh MRT line.
Serving 24 stations, including three interchanges, the JRL will connect key activity nodes in the west such as Jurong Industrial Estate, Jurong Innovation District, Nanyang Technological University and Tengah town. When fully operational, it will bring 60,000 more households within a 10-minute walk from an MRT station. The line will open progressively for passenger service from 2027.
In March 2025, the Ministry of Transport announced that the JRL will be extended southwards under the West Coast Extension. The extension will be completed in two phases – first linking Pandan Reservoir to West Coast Station on the upcoming Cross Island Line by the late 2030s, followed by a connection to Kent Ridge station on the Circle Line by the early 2040s.
