22 December 2005 Concert goers,
football enthusiasts and food-lovers
will soon have reason to rejoice.
From 23 December 2005, SBS Transit
will be introducing a new set
of bus services named Stadium
Direct which provide direct links
to popular housing estates during
special events at the Kallang
area when demand for public transport
is high. The Stadium Direct services
will serve commuters in Ang Mo
Kio, Bedok, Boon Lay and Tampines.
The buses will be at the bus stop after Kallang Theatre along Stadium Walk to pick up passengers after the end of each selected events. For a start, Stadium Direct services will be deployed for the following concerts held at the Indoor Stadium:
• 23 December 2005: Very A-Do Live in Singapore
• 14 January 2006: Stefanie Sun Live in Singapore
• 24 January 2006: Backstreet

The four different routes of Stadium Direct services will ply along these roads:
The Ang Mo Kio Route will ply
from Stadium Walk to Ang Mo Kio
Avenue 10, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3,
Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, Yio Chu Kang
Road, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 and
terminates at Yio Chu Kang terminal.
The Bedok Route will ply from
Stadium Walk to Bedok Reservoir
Road, Bedok North Avenue 3, Bedok
North Street 1 and terminates
at Bedok bus interchange.
The Boon Lay Route will ply from
Stadium Walk to Jurong Town Hall
Road, Jurong East Central, Jurong
East Avenue 1, Boon Lay Avenue,
Jalan Boon Lay and terminates
at Boon Lay bus interchange.
The Tampines Route will ply from
Stadium Walk to Tampines Avenue
2, Tampines Street 32, Tampines
Street 34, Tampines Street 45,
Tampines Avenue 9, Tampines Street
41, Tampines Avenue 7 and terminates
at Tampines bus interchange.
Stadium Direct services will charge a flat fare of $2 for adult and a flat fare of $1 for student, child or senior citizen paying by ez-link card or cash. Concession rate and e-stamp will not be applicable for these services.
As Stadium Direct services are deployed for selected events, posters will be put up at the four terminating bus interchanges and terminal as well as at bus-stops that these services call at to inform commuters whenever these services are available.
