23 December - From Monday, 26 December 2005, enhancements will be made to Express Services 502 and 518 on its coverage and operating hours. 

SBS Transit Express 502
The service will be extended to Pioneer Road North from Boon Lay Bus Interchange. It will also ply via Toh Guan Road and will not longer serve Clementi New Town and Holland Road. 

To provide faster journeys during the peak hours, Express 502 will be split into 2 quicker routes, namely Express 502A and 502B and cater to the demand of Jurong West Extension and Jurong East New Towns respectively.

SBS Transit Express 502A
The Service will operate from Pioneer Road North to Orchard Road and Marina Centre, via Jurong West Avenue 5. It will operate express along the sector between Jurong West Avenue 1 and Orchard Road. This will provide passengers from Jurong West with a faster journey to and from the City during the peak hours with travel time reduced by about 20%. 

SBS Transit Express 502B
The Service will operate from Jurong West Avenue 1 to Orchard Road and Marina Centre via Jurong East Avenue 1, Toh Guan Road and Boon Lay Way.

SBS Transit Express 518
The coverage of the service will be extended to Pasir Ris Drive 12 and more of Pasir Ris Drive 3. 

To provide faster journeys during the peak hours, Express 518 will be split into 2 quicker routes, namely Express 518A and 518B and cater to the demand of Pasir Ris and Tampines New Towns respectively.

SBS Transit Express 518A
The service will operate from Pasir Ris Bus Interchange to Orchard Road and Marina Centre, via Pasir Ris Drive 3, Drive 12, Drive 1 and Loyang Avenue. It will operate express along the sector between Tampines Avenue 2 and Moulmein Road as well as between Moulmein Road and Scotts Road. This will provide commuters from Pasir Ris with a faster journey to and from the City during the peak hours with travel time reduced by about 20%. 

SBS Transit Express 518B

The service will operate from Tampines Avenue 7 to Orchard Road and Marina Centre via Tampines Avenue 2, Avenue 1 and Moulmein Road.

Operating hours…
While Express 502A, 502B, 518A and 518B will operate only during the peak hours of weekdays, both the extended Express 502 and Express 518 will operate during the off-peak hours of weekdays, weekends and public holidays. The operating hours of these two express services will be extended to 12 midnight on its return trip from Marina Centre on all days. Passengers may refer to the bus stop plates and our website at www.sbstransit.com.sg for bus arrival time. 

These services will also operate on a concept of flexible routing for the express sectors of their coverage. The flexible routing allows the services to reduce journey time by avoiding areas with heavy congestion. They will instead use other roads which may not be parallel to the parent route.
