25 September 2006 – Thousands of bus commuters thronged the SBS Transit SeasonPass road show over the weekend, eager to sign up for the bus pass which will offer them unlimited bus rides.
The road show at Toa Payoh Interchange, which lasted 8 hours over the weekend, attracted more than 3,000 commuters. Some were interested in signing up for the pass immediately, some wanted forms for their friends and family, and some wanted to know more about the product. In the three days since launch, over 500 applications have been received.
SBS Transit Director, Corporate Communications, Ms Tammy Tan, said: “We are very encouraged by the strong response. We knew that commuters would find the SeasonPass attractive but we did not anticipate the overwhelming response. We were even worried that the stock of goodie bags would run out before the end of the day on Saturday.”
SeasonPass, launched on 22 September 2006, enables commuters to ride as many times as they want on SBS Transit buses for just $3.30 a day or $98 a month.
To commemorate the launch of SeasonPass, those who buy the November 2006 stamp will receive 1.5 months worth of travel – half a month more than the usual stamp. In addition, a discount of $30 will be given to commuters who purchase three months’ worth of stamps. This means that they pay just $264 instead of $294 for a 3.5-month period. This works out to a daily rate of just under $2.50 for unlimited bus travel.
In addition, commuters who sign up and purchase at least one stamp will receive a SeasonPass Welcome Pack with product vouchers worth over $50. These will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis and whilst stocks last. Vouchers include discounts at food outlet, cinema, museums and complimentary bus ride vouchers. Those who sign up for the pass in the first six weeks will also be getting a free M315 BenQ-Siemens mobile phone when they subscribe for a 2-year mobile phone plan.
Interested commuters can pick up application forms at all TransitLink Ticket Offices, SBS Transit bus interchanges, NTUC Union offices or download them from www.sbstransit.com.sg/SeasonPass from today. Once the applications are approved, holders will be able to collect the stamps at all TransitLink Ticket Offices and SBS Transit bus interchanges. Application fee of $3 will also be waived during this promotion period which will end on 31 January 2007. Commuters can log on to SBS Transit’s website, www.sbstransit.com.sg/SeasonPass for more information.
