9 January 2006 – SBS Transit commuters will receive double happiness this Lunar New Year season with two promotion packages being planned for them to win attractive prizes and free giveaways.

Fortune 1-2-8 Lucky Draw
Under this promotion, SBS Transit bus and train commuters will automatically earn lucky draw chances with every dollar spent on their ez-link cards during the period 10 January 2006 to 12 February 2006. As the name implies, commuters will be given 1, 2 or 8 lucky draw chances for riding on SBS Transit bus and train services. The different bonus Lucky Draw chances will depend on weekday or weekend travel and the type of SBS Transit services chosen.

During weekends, commuters will be given 8 lucky draw chances for every $1 spent on our ‘Lucky Chinatown Services’, which include North East Line (NEL) Chinatown Station rides and all bus services serving Chinatown. On weekdays, 2 lucky draw chances will be given on ‘Lucky Chinatown Services’. For travel on our ‘Prosperous Orchard Road Services’, 2 lucky draw chances will be given. All travel on NEL train service except Chinatown Station will also earn 2 lucky draw chances for every $1 spent.

Besides Lucky Chinatown and Prosperous Orchard Road Services, commuters riding on all other SBS Transit basic bus services and LRT will be given 1 lucky draw chance for every $1 spent.

Concession e-stamp users will also be given 1 lucky draw chance for every 2 rides on SBS Transit bus or train services. Bonus lucky draw chances can be earned on Lucky Chinatown and Prosperous Orchard Road Services.

The lucky draw will be held on 20 February 2006 with the grand prize of a 32-inch LCD TV and 17 other attractive prizes.

Lucky HongBao Giveaways
Due to popular demand, Lucky HongBao Giveaways will be back this year. The promotion is specially planned for the Lunar New Year period of 29 January – 12 February 2006, which corresponds to the 1st to 15th day of the Lunar New Year.

Commuters will be able to collect hongbaos when they travel on Chinatown Direct – CT8, CT18 and CT28, or CityBuzz services – C1, C2 and C3.

Similar to last Lunar New Year, the hongbaos will allow them to claim sure win prizes as well as chances to participate in the ‘Lucky HongBao Giveaways’ draw. Prizes up for grabs include 20-inch LCD TV, digital camera, spa and restaurant vouchers, etc.
