9 March 2007 - SBS Transit is introducing a new service to provide commuters with direct connections between Pasir Ris and Bukit Merah. This new service - Service 5 - will begin operations with effect from Sunday, 11 March.
With new Service 5, commuters along the route will enjoy enhanced connectivity to the various MRT stations such as Novena, Newton, Orchard and Tiong Bahru. It will also enable commuters to get to Loyang Point, Changi General Hospital, Tampines SAFRA and Great World City very conveniently.
Operating between Pasir Ris Interchange and Bukit Merah Interchange, Service 5 will ply through Pasir Ris Drive 3, Upper Changi Road North, Simei Road, Simei Avenue, Bedok Reservoir Road, Kaki Bukit Avenue 1, Thomson Road, Scotts Road, Kim Seng Road and Tiong Bahru Road.
