The routes of 17 SBS Transit bus services will be temporarily diverted temporarily when roads are closed during the National Day Parade 2008 on 9 August 2008.
Diversions In Marina Centre
Republic Boulevard as well as the stretch of Raffles Avenue between Temasek Avenue and Republic Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8.00am to 11.00pm. This will result in Services 56 and 195 looping at Temasek Avenue instead of terminating at Marina Centre Terminal.
While the three left lanes of Raffles Avenue between Temasek Avenue and the floating stage are closed to vehicular traffic from 8.00am to 1.00pm, Raffles Avenue will remain passable to bus services. However, Services 36, 56, 70M, 97, 111, 133, 162M, 195 and 502 will not call at the bus stops along Raffles Avenue (before Temasek Avenue and opposite The Oriental Singapore). These Services will also not call at the bus stop outside the Esplanade when Raffles Avenue is completely closed to traffic from 1.00pm to 11.00pm.
Diversions In the vicinity of Marina Centre
Esplanade Drive, Connaught Drive, Nicoll Highway (between Bras Basah Roadn and Stamford Road) and Stamford Road (between Nicoll Highway and Beach Road) will also be closed progressively from 2.00pm to 11.00pm, which will result in Services 10, 14, 16, 57, 70, 100, 130, 131 and 196 being diverted to ply other roads instead. In addition, the bus stop outside Fullerton Square, along Fullerton Road, will also be closed from 4.00pm to 11.00pm while the ones outside One Raffles Link along Nicoll Highway will be closed from 2.00pm to 11.00pm to facilitate crowd management by the authority.
Commuters travelling to and from the said areas can board and alight at the bus stops along the diverted routes.
Commuters are likely to experience service disruption in the area and we seek their understanding.
