SBS Transit will be extending its bus and train operating hours during the Lunar New Year.
LUNAR NEW YEAR EVE (Sunday, 25 January 2009)
CHINATOWN DIRECT SERVICES
The operating hours for the three Chinatown Direct Services – CT 8, CT 18 and CT 28 – will be extended to serve commuters shuttling between Chinatown and three suburban estates - Ang Mo Kio, Bedok and Clementi. The last bus to Chinatown will depart at 11.00 pm while the last bus back from Chinatown will depart at 2.00am from the the bus stop along Outram Road outside New Bridge Road Terminal. NITE OWL SERVICES
The six Nite Owl services – 1N, 2N, 3N, 4N, 5N and 6N – will be in operation from midnight to 2.00 am.
SERVICE DIVERSIONS FOR CHINATOWN LUNAR NEW YEAR EVE COUNTDOWN
15 services – Services 2, 12, 33, 54, 63, 80, 124, 143, 145, 147, 166, 197, CT8, CT18 and CT28 – travelling through the Chinatown area will be temporarily diverted from 5.00pm as New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street, between the junction of Upper Cross Street and Kreta Ayer Road, will be closed to vehicular traffic to facilitate this event.
These Services will not call at the bus stops along the roads that are closed but passengers can board and alight at bus stops along the diverted routes. Please see poster for details.
- NORTH-EAST LINE (NEL) SERVICES
The last North-bound train will depart HarbourFront Station at 1.54 am while the last South-bound train will depart Punggol Station at 1.33 am.
At the Chinatown station, both the last North-bound and South-bound trains will depart at 2.00 am. At the Dhoby Ghaut Station, the last North-bound train towards Punggol station will depart at 2.04 am while the last South-bound train towards HarbourFront will leave at 1.56 am.
- SENGKANG AND PUNGGOL LRT SERVICES
The last Sengkang LRT train (East and West Loops) will depart Sengkang Town Centre Station at 2.34 am while the last Punggol LRT train will depart Punggol Town Centre Station at 2.37 am.
LUNAR NEW YEAR (Monday & Tuesday, 26 & 27 January 2009)
NITE OWL SERVICES
On Monday, 26 January 2009, The six Nite Owl services – 1N, 2N, 3N, 4N, 5N and 6N – will be in operation from midnight to 2.00 am.
JURONG INDUSTRIAL SERVICES
As most offices and factories will be closed during this festive period, the average frequency for Jurong Industrial Services 246, 249, 251, 252, 254, 255 and 257 will be adjusted according to commuters' demand. This temporary adjustment in schedule will take effect from 26 January 2009. The regular schedule will resume from Saturday, 31 January 2009. Please see poster for details.
NO OPERATION FOR NINE SERVICES
Nine SBS Transit bus services - Service 11, 96, 502, 518, 578, 579, 581, CT8 and CT18 - will also not be in operations on the first two days of the Lunar New Year. They will resume operations on Wednesday, 28 January 2009. Please see posters for more details.
