Bus And Train Services During F1

SBS Transit will be adjusting its bus and train services for the Formula 1 (F1) event, starting from Wednesday, 23 September to the following Tuesday, 29 September 2009.

TRAIN SERVICES

During the F1 race days, from 25 to 27 September 2009, both the NEL and LRT train services will be extended with the last trains departing later.

Punggol and Sengkang LRT

The last LRT train will depart Sengkang Town Centre Station on both the East and West Loops at about 1.50am. At the Punggol Town Centre Station, the last LRT train will leave at about 1.52am. These trains would depart only after the last NEL train arrives at their respective stations.

BUS SERVICES

Temporary diversion of Bus Services

From 23 September to 29 September 2009, 27 basic and express bus services – 10, 10e, 14, 14e, 16, 36, 56, 57, 70, 70M, 97, 97e, 100, 107, 107M, 111, 128, 130, 131, 133, 162, 162M, 195, 196, 196e, 502, 518 – as well as the Nite Owls and Premium Services will be temporarily diverted to travel on alternative routes due to road closures in the Marina Centre area:

However, Services 10, 10e, 70, 196 and 196e will travel on their regular routes when Esplanade Drive (towards Shenton Way) is opened to vehicular traffic between 5am and 9am from 23 September to 26 September, as well as on 28 September 2009.

Four bus services – 100, 107, 130 and 131 – will be diverted to ply Esplanade Drive when Connaught Drive and Saint Andrew’s Road are closed to vehicular traffic on 29 September from 5am to 5pm.

These services will also be affected due to road closures from 23 to 28 September 2009:

Services Affected
97e During the weekday evening peak hours, it will start operating from the bus stop in front of One Raffles Quay instead of at the stop in front of Clifford Pier.
128, 131 and 162 Skip the bus stop in front of NTUC Income Centre along Bras Basah Road.
57, 100, 107 and 107M Skip the bus stop in front of Shaw Towers along Beach Road.
14, 14e and 16 Skip the bus stop in front of Suntec City along Nicoll Highway when Esplanade Drive is opened to traffic from 5am to 9am.
14, 16 and 70M Call at the temporary bus stop along Nicoll Highway after Java Road.
10, 70 and 196 Call at the temporary bus stop along Nicoll Highway after Java Road. Skip bus stops:
  • In front of the Concourse along Nicoll Highway
  • Opposite Golden Mile Tower along Nicoll Highway from 2pm on 25 Sep to 27 Sep

Premium Services

The 30 Premium Services will continue to operate as usual during the morning peak hours. However, from 23 to 28 September 2009, due to road closures, these services will skip the bus stops opposite AIA Tower along Robinson Road and in front of Fullerton Square along Fullerton Road.

Nite Owl Services

The six Nite Owl services will continue to operate as usual on Friday and Saturday nights after midnight till 2.00am. The trips will start from the bus stop outside the Saint Andrew’s Cathedral along North Bridge Road, and continue on their regular routes. However, due to road closures, the Nite Owl services will not be able to call at the three bus stops along Raffles Ave during these three days.

Four Special Feeder Services

Four feeder services – EW1, EW5, EW27 and NS16 – have also been designed to operate after midnight to complement the existing Nite Owl services. These are to tie-in with the extended train hours and will serve four heartlands - Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Boon Lay, and Pasir Ris. A flat fare of $1.50 will be charged for these feeder services.

iris NextBus

iris NextBus will not be available for affected services from 23 to 28 September 2009. Those who send SMSes for any of the affected services during this period will receive an SMS to inform them that there is no bus arrival information. The incoming SMS will not be charged.
