Temporary Changes in Bus Services due to the Thaipusam Religious Procession

During this coming weekend (29 to 31 January 2010), 21 SBS Transit bus services will be temporarily affected when selected roads and bus stops are closed to facilitate the Thaipusam religious procession.

Four services – 64, 123, 139 and 143 – will be temporarily diverted to travel via alternative routes when Clemenceau Avenue in the direction of Orchard Road, is closed to vehicular traffic from Friday, 29 January, 9pm to Sunday, 31 January 2010, 2am. As a result, they will have to skip two bus stops -- after River Valley Road and Opposite the Haw Par Glass Tower - along their regular routes.

17 services – 7, 14, 16, 21, 23, 36, 65, 66, 111, 123, 125, 130, 147, 162M, 174, 175 and 502 – will also bypass another two bus stops that will be closed to facilitate the procession. From Friday, 29 January, 9pm to Saturday, 30 January 2010, 8pm, the two bus stops that will be closed for service are:

  • Along Penang Road, outside the Dhoby Ghaut Station, and
  • Along Serangoon Road, outside the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple
