SBS Transit's North East Line turns eight tomorrow. To celebrate its anniversary, it will be giving customers commemorative pass holders - for free!
From 7.30 am on Monday, 20 June 2011, more than 60 SBS Transit staff will be giving away some 70,000 card holders to passengers at all its 16 stations, including Woodleigh Station, which will start revenue service on 20 June.
Besides this, for one month only until 31 July 2011, passengers can purchase a pair of NEL train models at a special price of $88.00 instead of the usual $150.00. These model trains will be sold at our Passenger Service Centres at all NEL stations. Each customer can buy up to two pairs of train models, while stocks last.
Mr Gan Juay Kiat, Chief Executive Officer of SBS Transit, said: "Today is a special day as NEL celebrates its 8th anniversary. From an annual ridership of about 30.4 million in 2003, it has grown to more than 138 million in 2010. And our NEL ridership continues to be on the rise. We would like to thank our passengers for their patronage and support through the past eight years."
