SBS Transit will be extending both its train and bus services on the eve of the Lunar New Year, so as to cater to the travel needs of commuters.

Train Services

North East Line
On 22 January, which is Lunar New Year's Eve, the last train in the direction of HarbourFront will depart Punggol Station at 1.47am and Chinatown Station at 2.15am. The last train towards Punggol will depart HarbourFront Station at 2.09am and Chinatown Station at 2.15am.

More train trips will also be operated during the eve and the first two days of the Lunar New Year to cater to the expected increase in passenger demand. A total of 305 extra trips will be added to the regular schedule of the North East Line over these three days.

Sengkang and Punggol LRT
In line with the NEL service extension, the operating times for the Punggol and Sengkang LRTs will similarly be extended on Lunar New Year's Eve, with the last LRT train departing five minutes after the last NEL train pulls in at their respective stations. The last Sengkang LRT train is scheduled to depart the Town Centre at 2.45am while the last train on the Punggol LRT will depart the Town Centre at 2.47am.

Bus Services

Chinatown Direct Services
The operating hours of Chinatown Direct services will be extended on Lunar New Year's Eve to cater to the expected increase in passenger demand. CT8 shuttles between Ang Mo Kio and Chinatown, CT18 between Bedok and Chinatown, while CT28 plies between Clementi and Chinatown. The last bus of these three services heading towards Chinatown will depart from the three heartlands at 11.00pm, while the last bus back from Chinatown to the three housing estates will depart at 2.10am from the bus stop opposite the Outram Park Station (bus stop number 06011).

There will be no Chinatown Direct Services on the first two days of the Lunar New Year. CT8 and CT18 will resume regular operating hours from Wednesday, 25 January. CT28 will not be in service after 22 January as it operates only during the festive period.

Feeder Bus Services
The operating hours for 26 feeder bus services that operate in 12 heartland towns will be extended on Lunar New Year's Eve. This is to cater to the travel needs of commuters staying out late on the eve of this festive season. The last bus of these services will be timed to leave their respective interchanges after the last train departure.

Nite Owl Services
The six Nite Owl services - 1N, 2N, 3N, 4N, 5N and 6N - which operate on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays, will be in operation from midnight to 2.00am on Lunar New Year's Eve and the first day of the Lunar New Year.

Services 97 and 133
The operating hours for both services will be extended on Lunar New Year's Eve with the last bus for Service 97 departing from the Marina Centre Terminal at 1.00am. Similarly, the last bus for Service 133 will depart from Shenton Way Terminal at the same time.
