Chinatown Direct Bus Services for the Chinese New Year

The operating hours of the Chinatown Direct Bus Services will be temporarily changed in the lead up to the Chinese New Year. The two services - CT8 which plies between Ang Mo Kio and Chinatown and CT18 between Bedok and Chinatown - will also be affected by road closures due to the Chinese New Year festive celebrations.

1. CHANGE IN OPERATING HOURS
On three consecutive weekends starting from this Saturday, 19 January 2019, there will be some changes to the schedules of their first and last buses.

The first bus of CT8 will depart from Ang Mo Kio 14 minutes earlier than usual at 9.49am. There is no change in the first bus timing for CT18.

On Saturdays, the last bus of both services leaving the heartlands will also be extended by about 37 minutes to an hour while the last bus back from Chinatown will be at 12.30am, which is about two-and-a-half hours later than usual.

On the eve of Chinese New Year, 4 February 2019, their operating hours will be significantly extended as follows:

There will be no Chinatown Direct Bus Services in operation on the first two days of the Lunar New Year, 5 and 6 February 2019. From Thursday, 7 February 2019, they will resume their normal operating hours.

2. BUS STOPS SKIPPED DUE TO ROAD CLOSURES
The Chinatown Direct Services will be affected by road closures for the Chinese New Year festive celebrations, resulting in four bus stops being skipped along their regular routes:

  • Sunday, 17 February 2019, 2.00pm to 11.59pm for the Chingay Night Fiesta @ Chinatown
