Extension of Service Hours for Chinatown Direct Bus Services

26 January 2015 - The operating hours of the Chinatown Direct bus services will be extended in the three weeks leading up to the Lunar New Year, starting from Saturday, 31 January to 18 February 2015.

CT8 plies between Ang Mo Kio and Chinatown, CT18 from Bedok to Chinatown and CT28, which operates only during the Lunar New Year festive period and plies between Clementi and Chinatown, will offer commuters greater convenience with these extended hours.

For three consecutive Saturdays - 31 January, 7 and 14 February - the last bus to Chinatown will depart from their respective heartlands at 9.00pm, which is an hour later than their regular schedule. The last bus from Chinatown back to the heartlands will depart at 12.30am – two-and-a-half hours later than their regular time – from the bus stop after Hospital Drive (bus stop number 10017) along Eu Tong Sen Street.

For the two weekdays preceding the Lunar New Year eve, on 16 and 17 February, the last bus to Chinatown will depart from the heartlands at 9.00pm while the last bus back from Chinatown will be at 12.00am, instead of 5.00pm, which is the usual timing.

On the eve of the Lunar New Year, the last bus will depart from the heartlands at 11.00pm while the return trip for the last bus from Chinatown will be at 1.55am.

During this festive Chinese New Year period, these three services will continue to keep to their regular daily schedules for the first bus heading to Chinatown at 10.00am and from Chinatown at 11.00am. On weekdays and Sundays, they will also maintain their regular schedules for the last bus in both directions.

Chinatown Direct bus services will not be in operation on the first two days of the Lunar New Year. From 21 February, CT8 and CT18 will resume their regular operating hours while CT28 will suspend its service until the next Lunar New Year festive period.
