Operating hours for Train and selected Bus Services during New Year's Eve
SBS Transit will be extending the operating hours of its train and bus services on New Year's Eve, Thursday, 31 December 2015. The operating hours of selected Fast Forward and Express bus services will also be amended for that day.
A. EXTENSION OF HOURS
1. TRAIN SERVICES
Train services on the North East and Downtown Lines will be extended by at least two hours on 31 December 2015.
On the North East Line, the last train in the direction of HarbourFront will depart Punggol Station at 1.45am, Serangoon Station at 1.56am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 2.08am, Chinatown Station at 2.12am and Outram Park Station at 2.14am. The last train towards Punggol will leave HarbourFront Station at 2.16am, Outram Park Station at 2.19am, Chinatown Station at 2.21am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 2.25am and Serangoon Station at 2.37am.
Services on the Punggol and Sengkang LRT systems will similarly be extended to coincide with the last train arrivals on the North East Line. The last train on the Sengkang LRT will depart the Town Centre Station at 2.52am while the last train on the Punggol LRT will leave the Town Centre at 2.55am.
With the opening of the Downtown Line 2 stations on 27 December 2015, the last train on the Downtown Line in the direction of Bukit Panjang will depart Chinatown Station at 2.02am, Bayfront Station at 2.07am, Promenade Station at 2.10am, Bugis Station at 2.12am, Little India Station at 2.16am, Newton Station at 2.19am and Botanic Gardens Station at 2.23am. The last train towards Chinatown will leave Bukit Panjang Station at 1.41am, Botanic Gardens Station at 1.58am, Newton Station at 2.03am, Little India Station at 2.05am, Bugis Station at 2.09am, Promenade Station at 2.12am and Bayfront Station at 2.14am.
2. BUS SERVICES
To complement the extension of train operating hours, the last bus timings of 32 selected bus services - 2, 12, 33, 51A, 60A, 63M, 97, 133, 181, 222, 225G, 228, 229, 232, 238, 240, 241, 243G, 261, 269, 282, 291, 292, 293, 315, 325, 333, 334, 358, 359, 400 and 410W - will also be extended at their respective bus interchanges/terminals.
In addition, the six Nite Owl services will be extended to operate until 4.00am.
B. CHANGES IN OPERATING HOURS
Eleven services - 10e, 14e, 30e, 74e, 89e, 97e, 128, 151e, 174e, 196e and 513 - that serve the Central Business District will not be in operation during the evening peak hours as offices will be closed earlier on New Year's eve. However, these services will operate return trips from the city between 1.00pm and 2.00pm while Service 513 will run two trips at 1.15pm and 1.30pm. There is no change to the operating hours of these services from the heartlands to the city for the morning trips.
