Train and Bus Services during Chinatown Chinese New Year Light Up and Opening Ceremony
On Saturday, 16 January 2016, the operating hours of train services will be extended for the Chinatown Chinese New Year Light Up and Opening Ceremony. 15 bus services will also be diverted due to road closures for the event.
A. EXTENSION OF HOURS
1. TRAIN SERVICES
On the North East Line, the last train in the direction of HarbourFront will depart Punggol Station at 12.02am, Serangoon Station at 12.13am, Little India Station at 12.23am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 12.25am, Chinatown Station at 12.29am and Outram Park Station at 12.31am. The last train towards Punggol will leave HarbourFront Station at 12.30am, Outram Park Station at 12.33am, Chinatown Station at 12.35am, Dhoby Ghaut Station at 12.39am, Little India at 12.41am and Serangoon Station at 12.51am.
Services on the Punggol and Sengkang LRT systems will similarly be extended to coincide with the last train arrival on the North East Line. The last train on the Sengkang LRT will depart the Town Centre Station at 1.05am while the last train on the Punggol LRT will depart the Town Centre at 1.07am.
The last train on the Downtown Line in the direction of Bukit Panjang will depart Chinatown Station at 12.18am, Bayfront Station at 12.23am, Promenade Station at 12.26am, Bugis Station at 12.28am, Little India Station at 12.32am, Newton Station at 12.35am and Botanic Gardens Station at 12.39am. The last train towards Chinatown will leave Bukit Panjang Station at 11.50pm, Botanic Gardens Station at 12.06am, Newton Station at 12.11am, Little India Station at 12.14am, Bugis Station at 12.18am, Promenade Station at 12.20am and Bayfront Station at 12.22am.
2. BUS SERVICES
From 2.00pm to 11.00pm, 15 bus services - 2, 12, 33, 54, 63, 80, 124, 143, 145, 147, 166, 197, CT8, CT18 and CT28 - will skip eight bus stops in the vicinity of Chinatown due to road closures.
