SBS Transit Introduces New Fast Forward Services 14e And 196e
9 December 2005 - Having successfully implemented five Fast Forward services, SBS Transit is pleased to implement two more new Fast Forward Services, 14e and 196e on 12 December 2005.

Aiming to deliver a 10 to 15mins savings in journey time, the new services like the other Fast Forward services, will operate on a concept of flexible routing for the express sectors of their coverage. The flexible routing allows the services to reduce journey time by avoiding areas with heavy congestion.

Fast Forward Service 14e
Operate between Bedok North Avenue 3 and Orchard Road, Service 14e will ply via Bedok North Avenue 3, Bedok North Road, Upper East Coast Road, East Coast Road, Mountbatten Road, Stamford Road, Orchard Road, Penang Road, Somerset Road, Orchard Turn, Orchard Boulevard and Orchard Road in the morning peak from 7.45am to 8.15am. In the evening peak from 6.15pm to 6.45pm, it will ply via Orchard Road, Bras Basah Road, Mountbatten Road, East Coast Road, Upper East Coast Road, Bedok North Road and Bedok North Avenue 3.

Fast Forward Service 196e
Operate between Marine Parade and Shenton Way, Service 196e will ply via Marine Parade Road, Marine Terrace, Marine Crescent, Marine Parade Road, Amber Road, Nicoll Highway, Collyer Quay, Raffles Quay and Shenton way in the morning peak from 7.45am to 8.15am. In the evening peak from 6.15pm to 6.45pm, it will ply via Anson Road, Robinson Road, Nicoll Highway, Amber Road, Marine Parade Road, Marine Crescent and Marine Parade Road.

All Fast Forward Services operate from Monday to Friday at the stipulated peak periods.

To encourage commuters to ride on these two new services, SBS Transit will offer a promotional normal adult fare between 12 December and 30 December 2005. From 3 January 2006, commuters will pay fares of $1.56 to $2.31 if they pay by ez-link card or $1.60 to $2.35 if they pay by cash. This fare is the same fare as the existing Express services. Similarly, transfer rebates will be given but concessionary travel is not applicable.

SBS Transit has also partnered with Polish Divas, a nail lounge to offer passengers of Services 14e and 196e a 20% discount off their services and a chance to win a La Mer Diva Manicure for two worth $230. The promotion is valid from 12 December 2005 to 22 January 2006. Polished Divas is located at 237B, Victoria Street, Bugis Village.
