Special Services for Lunar New Year 2005

BUS AND TRAIN SERVICES  - 4 to 8 February 2005
To enable the shoppers to enjoy the shopping till midnight and make it convenient for them to get home during this festive season, SBS Transit is extending operating hours of some of the trunk services serving Chinatown area and operating 11 special services connecting selected MRT stations in housing estates to their neighbourhoods from 4 to 8 February 2005. 

Extension of operation hours for selected trunk services in Chinatown 
The last trip of the selected trunk services will leave Chinatown at about 1am. These services are:

Service 12 in the direction of Pasir Ris
Service 33 in the direction of Bedok
Service 147 in the direction of Clementi
Service 166 in the direction of Ang Mo Kio
Service 197  in the direction of Bedok
in the direction of Jurong East

Operation of special services
To tie-in with the extension of train services for the period from 4 to 8 February 2005, SBS Transit is also operating 11 special services connecting selected MRT stations in housing estates to take commuters home to their neighbourhoods. These special services will operate from 12.35 am onwards and have their service numbers corresponding to the station code of the respective new towns - EW 1, EW 2, EW 5, EW 23, EW 24, EW 27, NE 12, NE 13, NE 14, NE 16 and NS 16. 

The new towns to be served by these special services are Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Boon Lay, Clementi, Hougang, Jurong East, Pasir Ris, Sengkang, Serangoon and Tampines.

In an earlier release, we have announced that SBS Transit is extending the operating hours of CityBuzz Service C1, Chinatown Direct Services as well as the rail service to better serve the travelling of shoppers during this festive season.

Extension of operating hours and introduction of short-working trips for CityBuzz Service C 1 for public to Singapore River Hongbao

To make it easier for the public to make their way to and from the River Hongbao especially in the late evening, short-working trips will be introduced on CityBuzz Service C1 to operate between Marina Centre and North Bridge Road (City Hall Station) for the period from 7 to 23 February 2005. At the same time, the operating hours will also be extended from 10.10 pm to 12.00 midnight.

Extension of operating hours for Chinatown Direct Services CT 8, CT 18 and CT 28 for public to Chinatown Chinese New Year Bazaar 
The operating hours of the three Chinatown Direct services will be extended to midnight for the period between 29 January to 
7 February 2005 as follows:

29 Jan - 7 Feb 2005 10am - 9pm 11am - 12 midnight

The three Chinatown Direct services provide connections to Chinatown directly from the neighbourhoods of Ang Mo Kio, Bedok and Clementi New Town.

Extension of operating hours for North East Line MRT as well as Sengkang and Punggol LRT

North East Line train service will be extended between 4 to 7 February 2005. The last train will depart Chinatown Station at 1.00 am for both directions to Punggol and Harbour Front.

The operating hours for Sengkang and Punggol LRT will also be extended for the same period between 4 to 7 February 2005. The last train will leave the Town Centre stations at 1.31 am and 1.33 am at Sengkang and Punggol respectively.
