Strong Response to the Lucky Hongbao Giveaways Promotion

About 4,300 commuters who travelled on CityBuzz and Chinatown Direct services have walked away with attractive prizes like cash hongbaos of $8, $18 or $28, restaurant and food vouchers, gold plated rooster coins and free bus rides as a result of the Lucky Hongbao Giveaways Promotion organised by SBS Transit.

Of these, 18 lucky commuters have registered to participate in a lucky draw to win the grand prize of the latest Nokia handphone, Nokia 7280. The lucky winner was picked at a lucky draw held at SBS Transit’s headquarters in Braddell Road today.

The value of the top 18 prizes range from $88 to $928. Besides the Nokia 7280, winners stand to win a year’s supply of the latest drink by Sprite Lemon Storm worth $475 each, vouchers ranging from $100 to $288 from Yum Cha Restaurant and Soup Restaurant and cash prize of $88.

The Lucky Hongbao Giveaways promotion was held between 14 – 23 February 2005. Commuters had to cut out the Lucky HongBao promotion coupons from the local newspapers, The New Paper, Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News and exchange them for Sure-Win hongbaos with the bus captains when they travel on CityBuzz services – C1, C2 and C3, or Chinatown Direct – CT8, CT18 and CT28.

"We are very happy that commuters have responded so well to this sure-win lucky draw event and are pleased to have injected some fun into their bus rides. We would also like to thank our business partners for their great support in making the event a success," said SBS Transit Chief Operating Officer, Mr Ong Boon Leong.

Commuters can log on to our websites at www.citybuzz.com.sg and www.chinatowndirect.com.sg for more information on CityBuzz and Chinatown Direct services.
