SBS Transit Introduces Parks 409 To Mount Faber

14 November 2005 – Always wanting to lounge at wine bars and enjoy the scenic view of Singapore’s skyline at Mount Faber but find it a hassle with no direct bus service to Mount Faber? Wait no longer. SBS Transit is pleased to introduce a new bus service, Parks 409, which offers a direct link to Mount Faber from HarbourFront Interchange.

The new bus service is officially launched by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports and Second Minister for Trade and Industry at the opening ceremony of The Jewel Box at Mount Faber today. A loop service, Parks 409 departs from HarbourFront Interchange daily and plies via Seah Im Road, Telok Blangah Road, Kampong Bahru, Mount Faber Road, Pender Road, Morse Road, Telok Blangah Road, HarbourFront Avenue, Maritime Square, and HarbourFront Place. It serves to enhance the accessibility to Mount Faber.

Announcing the launch of Parks 409 at the opening ceremony of The Jewel Box, Mr Soo Kok Leng, Chairman of Mount Faber Leisure Group said : “I am glad to announce that SBS Transit will run a new service, Parks 409 daily from HarbourFront Interchange up to the Jewel Box from today onwards with stops at the HarbourFront area close to the MRT, bus and taxi stops. A big Thank You to SBS Transit.”

In response, Mr Ong Boon Leong, Executive Director, SBS Transit said : “Visitorship to Mount Faber is expected to rise with the development and opening of The Jewel Box at Mount Faber. For the convenience of the visitors, SBS Transit decides to operate Parks 409 to enhance the connectivity to Mount Faber. We trust that Parks 409 will serve the visitors well especially for those who do not drive.”

Parks 409 departs from HarbourFront Interchange every 30 mins during weekdays between 6pm and 3am and between 7am and 3am during weekends and public holidays. Fares for adults are at a flat rate of $1. Concessionary travel and transfer rebate are applicable.

Other Parks services offered by SBS Transit include Parks 408 to Labrador Park, Parks 400 to Marina Park, Parks 401 to East Coast Park and Parks 403 to Pasir Ris Park.
