New Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange

On Saturday, 28 April 2007, the Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange will be shifting back to its permanent site which is located in the Ang Mo Kio Hub at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

The new Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange will be the third air-conditioned bus interchange to be operated by SBS Transit. Similar to the first two air-conditioned bus interchanges at Toa Payoh and Sengkang, the new Ang Mo Kio bus interchange will also be seamlessly integrated with retail outlets and a train station which is just a stone’s throw away. With shopping, food and public transport all under one air-conditioned roof, it will provide commuters with a more convenient and comfortable travelling and shopping experience.

The new Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange is also equipped with automatic sliding doors at the gates to facilitate boarding and alighting activities. All the gates at the boarding berths are also equipped with magnetic detectors where the doors will only be opened when a bus calls at the bus bay for boarding activity.

With the relocation, all the 14 SBS Transit services presently operating from the temporary Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange will enter and exit the new interchange via Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8.

With this routing, these 14 services will now not call at the pair of bus stops along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8, outside Jubilee Theatre and Ang Mo Kio MRT Station, as the interchange is within walking distance. However, these two bus stops will continue to be served by two passing-through services - Services 159 and 265.

Please see attached notices for more details. SBS Transit service updates are also available on our website at

Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange was shifted to the existing temporary site on 24 March 2002 to facilitate the construction of AMK Hub.
