Every year since 1998, SBS Transit has been organising the "Thank You Commuters' Day" as a show of appreciation and thanks for the support our commuters have given us throughout the year. This year has been no different.
In a bid to inject some fun into the programme, SBS Transit joined hands with SPH Buzz and SPH UnionWorks this year to hold a one-day adventure known as "Buzz My Day" on 23 June 2007 at VivoCity. Mr Gerard Ee, Chairman of Public Transport Council, was the Guest-of-Honour.
As part of the event, 250 teams raced and outwitted each other to get to various destinations on public transport and complete various tasks within the shortest time. The winning team received SeasonPasses for free travel on SBS Transit buses and other gifts such as Fortis watches, Canon cameras and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf hampers.
In addition, there were stage games, caricaturists and balloon sculpturists at VivoCity. SBS Transit management such as Chief Operating Officer, Mr Gan Juay Kiat, other senior management and frontline staff also gave out freebies such as Maggi Mee, Milo, Pokka drinks, Nescafe and Omega Acticol at 5 bus interchanges (Boon Lay, Bedok, Jurong East, Tampines and Toa Payoh) and 4 NEL stations (Boon Keng, Hougang, HarbourFront and Sengkang) from 10am as part of the celebrations.
