Introduction of Service 851e

Service 851e will be introduced to provide a faster connection for commuters travelling between Yishun and Chinatown. An Express service, it will travel on the Central Expressway (CTE) and serve several MRT stations enroute - Yishun, Khatib, Yio Chu Kang, Little India, Rochor, Bugis, City Hall and Chinatown - when it is launched on Sunday, 27 May 2018.

Originating from the Yishun Bus Interchange, it will serve selected bus stops along the regular route of its parent service, Service 851, until it reaches Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6, after Block 304. Thereafter, it will travel on an express route and skip the sector between Marymount Road and Thomson Road, to arrive at Bukit Timah Road at the bus stop outside Little India Station. This service will terminate at the stop along New Bridge Road, opposite the Pearl’s Centre. On its return journey, it will also travel on the CTE.

Service 851e will operate on weekdays at a frequency of 20 minutes during peak hours from the Yishun Interchange. During weekday off-peak hours as well as on weekends and public holidays, it is scheduled to operate at a frequency of 30 minutes.
