Downtown Line

The Downtown Line (DTL) is the fifth Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line in Singapore. It commenced service over three phases - on 22 December 2013, 27 December 2015 and 21 October 2017.

The Line is about 42 km (26 mi) long, with 34 stations, making it the longest underground and driverless MRT Line in Singapore. It connects the northwestern and eastern regions of Singapore to the Central Business District and Marina Bay, thereby reducing travelling time considerably. For example, residents in the west can zip from Bukit Panjang to Bugis in less than 30 minutes. A journey on the entire line will take about 67 minutes.

The DTL3 Extension from Expo to Sungei Bedok, an additional 2.2km, is expected to open in 2024.
