Meet the faces behind the North East Line (NEL) / Downtown Line (DTL)
Always wondered what the tunnels of the North East Line (NEL) / Downtown Line (DTL) look like? Or how the train gets from one station to another without a driver? And what are the mechanics which ensure that the platform screen doors and the train doors always open at the same time? Well, we have the answers for you at SBS Transit's inaugural "Meet the Managers" engagement session.
Since September 2015, SBS Transit's rail management and commuters can get to know each other better and to find out how the NEL has been serving its commuters. Organised as an informal chit-chat session, this will be held on alternate months on the last Wednesday, from 6.00pm to 7.00pm at selected NEL stations.
Starting from Wednesday, 30 March 2016, the programme will roll out at selected DTL stations, kicking off at DT1 Bukit Panjang Station, next to the Passenger Service Centre.
SBS Transit Executive Vice President (Rail Business Area), Mr Simon Lane said: "We value the importance of engaging our customers. They are the heart of our business. Our "Meet the Managers" sessions will give us a chance to get to know our passengers better and allow us to share about our passion for service. We hope to establish a two-way communication channel with our passengers and we invite them to drop in for a visit to meet us. We are excitedly looking forward to this!"
